Inner Worlds Counseling · Join the Practice
Work with us.
Build something real.
A small, depth-oriented telehealth practice in Louisiana. We're not looking for volume — we're looking for the right person.
I built this practice the way I wish someone had built one for me when I was starting out.
A note from Heidi
What this actually is.
This isn't a high-volume referral machine or an insurance-based practice. It's a small, intentional space for therapists who want to do depth work and learn how to build a private practice while they do it.
If you're provisionally licensed in Louisiana — or you're a graduate student approaching licensure — and you're drawn to IFS and experiential approaches, I'd love to hear from you. You don't have to have everything figured out. I'm looking for curiosity and good clinical instincts more than credentials.
I'm transparent about how this works: the split, the systems, the reality of building a private pay caseload. Nothing hidden, no bait-and-switch. Just an honest arrangement between people trying to do good work.

You might be a good fit if...
- You're a provisionally licensed counselor (PLPC) in Louisiana — or a graduate student approaching licensure
- You're drawn to IFS, EMDR, or experiential and relational approaches
- You're curious about parts work and want to develop your clinical voice
- You want to learn how private practice actually works — the business side, not just the clinical side
- You're comfortable growing a caseload slowly and intentionally
- You have your own board-approved clinical supervisor in place — or are actively working toward one
- You're interested in telehealth — or have your own office setup for in-person work
Who this isn't for
Be honest with yourself.
- Clinicians who need immediate full caseloads — this takes time to build
- Anyone looking for clinical supervision — I don't provide that; you'll need your own LPC-S
- High-volume or insurance-based models — that's not what we do here
- Clinicians who want to be handed clients — you'll be building your own referral network too
- Anyone who isn't genuinely curious about their own inner work
This is a 1099 independent contractor arrangement. You are building your own practice within the Inner Worlds infrastructure.
What's included
What the practice provides.
Everything you need to see clients from day one — and the support to build something sustainable over time.
Practice Infrastructure
- EHR access — scheduling, documentation, and billing through Sessions Health
- Billing flows through the practice as required by Louisiana PLPC regulations
- Intake forms, consent documents, and client portal — set up and ready
- Individual Psychology Today listing — first 3 months covered by the practice
- Profile featured on the Inner Worlds Counseling website
Consultation & Support
- Regular consultation on building your private practice — consult calls, fees, how to find clients who are actually a good fit, the business side of this work
- IFS-informed clinical consultation — peer-style, non-evaluative, as needed
- Free access to Trailheads — the IFS consultation group for students and clinicians
- Honest conversations about how private practice actually works — rates, taxes, what to expect
Your Autonomy
- You set your own schedule — no required hours
- You manage your own caseload and client relationships
- You choose your clinical approach — IFS-informed but not prescriptive
- You can see clients telehealth or in-person if you have your own office
- Non-exclusive — you can work elsewhere if it doesn't interfere
Long-term Pathway
- A clear pathway to running your own independent practice if that's your goal
- Your clients are yours — they follow you when you leave
- Honest conversations about when it makes sense to transition out
- A relationship built on transparency, not dependency
Compensation
Fair and transparent.
You set your own fees in collaboration with Heidi. No guaranteed minimum — caseloads are built over time. Compensation structure is reviewed annually and adjusts as the arrangement evolves.
How it actually works
No surprises.
Louisiana requires that all PLPC billing flow through the supervising licensed practice. This is a state regulation — not a way of controlling your work or finances. You initiate billing yourself through Sessions Health. The money comes to the practice and your percentage is paid out on the 1st and 15th with a written accounting every pay period.
You are responsible for your own taxes, malpractice insurance, and clinical supervision. I'll help you understand the business side — but I'm not your employer, and I'm not your supervisor.
