Trailheads.
An IFS consultation circle
for students & clinicians.
A twice-monthly experiential space for clinicians working with trauma, attachment, and depth-oriented approaches. Come as you are — those new to IFS welcome.
Is this space for you?
You belong here if...
- You're curious about IFS and want practical, experiential exposure
- You feel stuck with complex or protector-heavy clients
- You want more confidence using parts language in session
- You're navigating trauma or attachment cases and want support
- You need a professional community that feels warm and real
- You know your own inner work supports your clinical work
- You're a student or emerging clinician building clinical confidence
What we do together
Two pillars. One grounded space.
Self-of-the-Therapist IFS Work
- Parts mapping and guided inner work
- Countertransference through an IFS lens
- Burnout prevention and nervous system care
- Strengthening Self-leadership
- Reconnecting with your purpose as a clinician
Optional sharing. Gentle pacing. No pressure.
Case Consultation & IFS Q&A
- How do I work with this protector?
- How do I pace trauma work safely?
- What if a client intellectualizes everything?
- How do I navigate attachment dynamics?
- What feels stuck here?
Collaborative teaching rooted in curiosity and practical application.
Why Trailheads
Learning IFS in isolation is hard. Many clinicians understand the model intellectually — but need a space to practice, ask questions, explore their own parts, and grow confidence in real time.
That's what this space is for. Come for consultation. Stay for community. Grow into the clinician you're becoming.

Your facilitator
Heidi McKinley, LPC
I'm a therapist, writer, and educator specializing in attachment trauma, parts work, and experiential healing. I help clinicians deepen Self-energy, understand protective systems, and bring IFS into practice with more confidence and compassion.
Trailheads grew out of my own experience of how transformative it is to have a real clinical community — one that holds both the technical and the human side of this work.
More about Heidi →Important: Trailheads is a consultation and learning space — not psychotherapy, supervision, or a substitute for formal IFS training. Participants are responsible for confidentiality, scope of practice, and clinical judgment.
